The world is loaded with temptation. There are always voices, images and other influences in the world, trying to persuade us to go against what we know is right. Sometimes we can find ourselves succumbing to these persuasions and often, if we are not prayerful, they will overtake us and we will find it impossible to live out our salvation. Thank God we need not fear, and we can say with the Psalmist…

“The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” – Psalm 118:6

As we call on God, He promises to answer us and to show us great and hidden things, particularly the secrets of the kingdom including His great plan of salvation for mankind. All of these things are a process of the Spirit of God’s revelation to us.The Lord challenges us…

“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” – Jeremiah 33:3

People today may have the house, the car, the spouse, and the kids. They may have the career. They may have money in the bank. They may also have everything going the way that things ought to go to supposedly live life to its fullest. But there is that something still lacking. They are still lacking life. Jesus has something to say about that…

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – John 10:10

However, to be a disciple of Christ you must first identify with Him, you must recognize that you are a sinner in need of a savior and you cannot save yourself and neither can anyone else a part from Jesus. Not only must you recognize that but you must embrace Christ as savior and Lord over your life. That means you must forsake all others and give Him the first place in your life, as He puts it…

“If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life —he cannot be My disciple.” – Luke 14:26

It’s important to make sure you, your family, and your loved ones have accepted the free gift of pardon that Jesus Christ bought for you with His death on the cross. Be ready to go when Jesus returns. Which, literally, could be at any moment now, as it is written…

“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.” – Matthew 24:30-31
